Ex-Kwara Guber Candidate, Hakeem Lawal Rejoins APC
Former Kwara State governorship candidate, Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal, Chairman of the Awliya Foundation, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.
Lawal announced his defection after paying a courtesy visit to the Kwara State Chairman of the APC, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, at his residence to formally notify him of the decision of his political family to join the ruling party.
Prince Fagbemi warmly received Lawal, describing the move as a reunion and a homecoming. He welcomed him on behalf of the National Chairman of the APC and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Lawal was accompanied on the visit by the former Kwara State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji AbdulAzeez Afolabi; the Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs to the Governor, Prince Sulyman Sai Kayi; the APC Chairman in Ilorin East Local Government, Hon. Habib Lawal; and the APC Chairman of Magaji Aare Ward I.
Following the meeting, Lawal proceeded to his Magaji Aare Ward I to complete his APC registration. He was received by traditional leaders, including the Magaji Aare of Ilorin and the Baba Isale of Ilorin, who offered prayers and goodwill messages as he begins his new political journey.
