Emir of Ilorin Endorses Jagunmo for PCRC National Vice Chairman

The Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, has endorsed the candidacy of the National Assistant Auditor General of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, for the position of National Vice Chairman of the committee.

Jagunmo formally commenced his bid for the national position with a visit to the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin, where he presented his nomination form and Kwara PCRC form to the Emir.

The visit was part of his preparations for the forthcoming PCRC national election and provided an opportunity for Jagunmo to seek the Emir’s royal blessings and prayers ahead of the contest.

While receiving Jagunmo, the Emir urged philanthropists, stakeholders and well-meaning members of the Ilorin Emirate to support his candidacy and work collectively to ensure that the position is “brought home.”

The monarch’s call underscores the importance of unity and collective support as Jagunmo seeks to represent Kwara at the national level of the PCRC.

The visit also highlighted the traditional institution’s support for initiatives aimed at strengthening community policing, promoting youth development and deepening collaboration between the police and members of the community.

Jagunmo’s bid is also expected to further advance discussions around stronger police-community relations and effective community security networks.

The forthcoming PCRC national election is expected to bring delegates and stakeholders from across the country together to elect a new national leadership.
