President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14, 2026, as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together party leaders and key stakeholders to coordinate the campaign for Tinubu’s re-election.

Former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, disclosed the development on Friday after meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa.

Yari said Tinubu had approved the proposed campaign timetable, with activities expected to begin with a rally in Kaduna on October 24.

The Kaduna rally will be followed by campaign engagements in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Meanwhile, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, in collaboration with the council’s Director of Women Mobilisation, Dr Betta Edu, and other members of the directorate, has commenced grassroots mobilisation of women nationwide ahead of the election.

The initiative aims to strengthen support for Tinubu’s re-election bid through community engagement and grassroots mobilisation.

Edu and her team have set a target of mobilising 40 million women voters through a strategy covering 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The campaign team is expected to promote the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0 through community outreach, public engagement and established grassroots networks.

The October 14 inauguration is expected to formalise the council’s operations and establish a coordinated framework for the APC’s nationwide campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
