Hon. Salman Ridwan Dan Sokoto, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Afon Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, has commended Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, for facilitating the ₦3 billion Afon–Aboto–Odo Ode Road project, also known as the Kwara–Oyo Boundary Road.

In a statement made available to newsmen, Dan Sokoto, on behalf of the people of Afon Constituency, expressed appreciation to the senator, popularly known as the Turaki of Ilorin, for his intervention on a road that has posed significant transportation challenges to residents for many years.

He noted that the road serves as a vital link for farmers, traders and other residents who depend on it to transport agricultural produce and other goods between Afon and neighbouring communities in Oyo State.

According to him, the road has remained a major concern for the people over the years, with residents repeatedly calling for government intervention to address the difficulties associated with transportation and the movement of goods.

“Politics aside, good work deserves to be acknowledged. Senator Saliu Mustapha has demonstrated a commitment to the development of Kwara Central through his interventions and representation at the National Assembly,” Dan Sokoto said.

He further noted that the senator’s legislative engagements and constituency interventions had contributed to addressing the needs of the people, particularly in areas of infrastructure and economic development.

Dan Sokoto also called on the people of Kwara Central to support Senator Mustapha’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections, expressing hope that his return to the Senate would enable him to sustain his efforts towards the development of the district.

He concluded by appreciating Senator Mustapha for facilitating the ₦3 billion road project, describing it as an important intervention for the people of Afon Constituency and surrounding communities.
