Kenya Airways Passenger Dies On Lagos-Bound Flight
Kenya Airways has confirmed the death of a passenger who suffered a medical emergency while travelling on a flight from Nairobi, Kenya, to Lagos, Nigeria.
The incident happened on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, shortly before the aircraft arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
According to the airline, the passenger became unresponsive at about 9:20 p.m. Nigerian time, around 20 minutes before the flight was scheduled to land.
The aircraft eventually arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 9:41 p.m. Medical personnel boarded the plane after landing to assess the passenger and provide assistance.
However, the medical team later confirmed that the passenger had died.
Kenya Airways said it was saddened by the incident and extended its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
The airline also said it was taking steps to protect the privacy and dignity of the passenger and others affected by the incident.
Kenya Airways stated that it is working with the deceased passenger’s family, relevant local authorities and aviation regulators to provide the necessary support and complete the required procedures.
The airline also apologized to other passengers for any inconvenience caused by the medical emergency and the events that followed the flight’s arrival in Lagos.
