Tinubu Moves to France to Continue Three-Week Annual Vacation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in France to continue his three-week annual vacation after spending the first part of his leave in London, United Kingdom.

Tinubu was received upon arrival in France by Nigeria’s Ambassador to the country, Emmanuel Ayodele Oke.

The President commenced his annual leave on August 30 and is expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the vacation.

Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, had earlier described the leave as a “working vacation”, during which Tinubu would spend time in Europe.

Announcing the President’s departure from Abuja, Onanuga said his first destination would be London, United Kingdom.

He also said Tinubu would return to Nigeria after the vacation to join preparations ahead of the January 2027 elections.

The President’s 2026 vacation follows the conclusion of Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s two-week annual leave.

Shettima’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, had described the vacation as the Vice-President’s first since assuming office.

Shettima returned to Nigeria on August 18, two days earlier than scheduled.

Tinubu also embarked on a 10-day annual leave in September 2025, during which he visited the United Kingdom and France.
