Olododo Graces Grand Finale of 2026 Ilorin Children’s Qur’an Recitation Championship

Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, has continued his grassroots outreach with a visit to the grand finale of the 2026 Ilorin Children’s Qur’an Recitation Championship.

​Held at the State Banquet Hall in Ilorin, the event gathered Islamic scholars, traditional leaders, community stakeholders, parents, and young participants who showcased their proficiency in Qur’anic recitation. The championship was organized by the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) in collaboration with the Yahaya Alapansanpa Youth Education Foundation (YAYEF).

Organizers noted that the initiative aims to foster an interest in Qur’anic scholarship among children while instilling discipline, good character, and religious education in the younger generation.

​Olododo joined other prominent Islamic and traditional leaders at the event to celebrate the young participants. Upon arrival, he exchanged pleasantries with distinguished dignitaries, including the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki; Imam Imale, Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi AbdulHameed; Balogun Alanamu, Dr. Usman Abubakar Jos; First Makama, Alhaji Ibrahim Oniye; and Dan Mansani, Engr. Yahaya Alapansanpa, among others.

​As part of his broader constituency engagements, Olododo also held an interactive session with the leadership and members of the Kwara Hairdressers Association For Danladi (KWAFOD), representing all 23 political wards across the Ilorin East and Ilorin South Local Government Areas.

​Addressing the gathering, Olododo highlighted the readiness of APC candidates across Kwara State, noting that the extensive infrastructural and human capital development projects under Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq serve as a solid foundation for their campaign messaging.

​During the session, KWAFOD members, led by State Coordinator Hajia Zainab Idi-Agbon, outlined key issues affecting women and small-scale business owners in the constituency, detailing their expectations for future representation. Hajia Zainab encouraged stakeholders to rally behind Olododo’s candidacy to ensure residents continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
