Lamine Yamal delivered a standout performance as Spain cruised to a convincing 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their second Group H match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The teenage star, making his first start in two months after recovering from a hamstring injury, wasted no time in making his presence felt. Yamal opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finishing calmly at the back post after connecting with a low cross from Mikel Oyarzabal.

Spain entered the encounter determined to bounce back from a disappointing goalless draw against Cape Verde in their opening game, and Yamal’s early strike set the tone for a dominant display in Atlanta.

Oyarzabal doubled Spain’s advantage before adding his second goal moments later to put the European champions 3-0 ahead within 24 minutes. Saudi Arabia struggled to cope with Spain’s attacking intensity as Luis de la Fuente’s side controlled proceedings from start to finish.

Spain added a fourth goal shortly after halftime when Marc Cucurella’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais, only for the rebound to ricochet off defender Hassan Al-Tambakti and into the net for an own goal.

Yamal’s impressive return provided the spark Spain needed after their sluggish start to the tournament, underlining his growing importance to the national team.

The victory lifts Spain to the top of Group H with four points from two matches, strengthening their chances of advancing to the knockout stage of the World Cup.
