President Bola Tinubu has said his administration never promised Nigerians instant solutions to the country’s challenges but committed itself to implementing reforms aimed at delivering long-term progress.

The president made the remark through Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the inauguration of the seven-kilometre access road bypassing the second runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday.

According to Tinubu, his government remains focused on fulfilling the Renewed Hope Agenda despite the economic difficulties facing the nation.

“When we assumed office, we did not promise miracles that would appear overnight,” he said.

“We promised deliberate, strategic and sustainable progress. Our Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to positively impact the lives of all Nigerians, not only through economic indicators but through meaningful improvements in their daily lives.”

The president also defended the economic reforms introduced by his administration, describing them as necessary measures for the country’s future development.

“The reforms we initiated three years ago were never expected to be easy. We made difficult decisions because they were necessary. The sacrifices of today will help build a stronger Nigeria tomorrow,” he stated.

Tinubu added that his administration is focused on laying a solid foundation for future generations rather than seeking short-term praise.

“We are not working for headlines; we are working for generations yet unborn. We will continue to work tirelessly until every Nigerian experiences the benefits of good governance,” he said.

Speaking at the event, Akpabio praised the quality of the newly completed road, noting that the smoothness of the road was evident during his journey to the inauguration.

“I was reading a newspaper while travelling on the road, and the paper was not shaking. That alone showed me the quality of the work done. It is a fantastic project,” he said.
