New Ilorin Chief Imam to Assume Duties on June 19

The newly appointed Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani, is set to officially assume his duties on Friday, June 19, 2026.

According to a statement issued by Dr. Abdulraheem Muritala, Personal Assistant to the Emir of Ilorin, the cleric will lead the Jumat prayer and deliver his first Khutbah as Chief Imam on the day of his inauguration.

Sheikh Dasuki was recently approved for the position by the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, following the selection process for the leadership of the Ilorin Central Mosque.

Members of the Muslim community and well-wishers have continued to offer prayers for the new Chief Imam as he prepares to take on the spiritual leadership of the Ilorin Emirate.

In the statement, Dr. Muritala prayed for Allah’s guidance, wisdom, good health, and long life for Sheikh Dasuki, asking that he be granted the strength and knowledge required to effectively lead the Muslim Ummah and discharge the responsibilities of his office.
