Bello el-Rufai, member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The announcement was made during Thursday’s plenary session at the House of Representatives, where Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read his defection letter before lawmakers.
Speaking after the move, Bello el-Rufai said his decision was taken after careful consideration and in line with his commitment to the people of Kaduna North.
“This decision was not taken lightly. As a proud son of Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, I am guided by courage, conviction, and the unshakable belief that our people deserve the very best,” he stated.
The lawmaker also confirmed that he would seek re-election under the platform of the ADC.
He assured constituents that his commitment to quality representation and service delivery remains unwavering.
“To the people of Kaduna North, our work continues and it will not stop. We will never compromise on delivering quality representation. There is still so much to do,” he added.
