Dino Melaye, a former senator representing Kogi West, has declared that he would defeat President Bola Tinubu if given the opportunity in a free and fair election.

Melaye made the statement during an interview on the Mic On Podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye of Channels Television, where he described Tinubu as the “most unpopular” politician in Nigeria.

The former lawmaker alleged that the president is not interested in a competitive electoral process but rather seeks a “coronation” for another term in office.

He said, “Any of those aspiring for the presidency under ADC will perform far better than Tinubu. There can never be a worse president than him.

“Let there be a free and fair election today, and I will defeat him convincingly. He won’t stand a chance.”
