Ex-Kwara Commissioner, Rotimi Iliasu Resigns from APC
Engr. Rotimi Iliasu, a former Commissioner for Works and Transport in Kwara State, has officially resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a resignation letter issued on Friday evening, Iliasu cited differences with the party’s current political direction as the reason for his departure.
The letter, titled “Resignation from Membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” confirmed that his resignation is effective immediately.
“In accordance with Article 9.5 (i) of the APC Constitution, I am formally notifying you of my decision to resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective immediately,” Iliasu wrote.
He explained that after a period of careful reflection and consultation, he concluded that the party’s current trajectory no longer aligns with his personal vision and aspirations for the development of Kwara State.
“While my commitment to the progress of our people remains unwavering, I believe I must pursue this through a path that better reflects my core political beliefs and ideals,” he added.
Despite his resignation, Iliasu expressed gratitude to the APC for the opportunities he enjoyed during his tenure as a member. “I would like to thank the party for the opportunities I have been given during my time as a member,” he concluded.
