Tinubu Approves 65 Ambassadorial Postings
President Bola Tinubu has approved the assignments of 65 ambassadors whose nominations were confirmed in December, directing them to their respective host countries.
Among the appointees, Reno Omokri, former presidential spokesperson, has been posted to Mexico, while Femi Fani-Kayode, former aviation minister, will represent Nigeria in Germany. Mahmood Yakubu, ex-chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is assigned to Qatar, and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim of Ondo South will serve as Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
In a statement on Friday, Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, said that Tinubu has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to commence the induction programme for the newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners immediately.
