2027: No aspirant’s name submitted to President, ignore rumours – Kwara Gov’s aide
The Special Adviser on Media to Kwara State Governor, Bashir Adigun, on Tuesday dismissed reports alleging that the name of a particular aspirant had been submitted to the President as the preferred candidate for the state’s 2027 governorship election.
Adigun in a statement isssued on Tuesday, described the claims as false, malicious and mischievous, alleging that they were designed to blackmail Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
In a statement, the governor’s aide said the reports should be ignored by members and leaders of the ruling party, insisting that no aspirant had been endorsed or forwarded to the President.
“We reject the blackmail outright. It is false to suggest that the Governor has submitted the name of any aspirant. Members and leaders of our party should ignore it,” he said.
Adigun also urged party stakeholders to disregard the speculation and advised aspirants to focus on promoting their ambitions through legitimate engagement rather than resorting to misinformation.
“We urge party members and stakeholders to ignore the claims. All aspirants are encouraged to sell their legitimate aspirations to all relevant stakeholders. The time, energy, and resources being spent to blackmail others can do something better,” he added.
