Zamfara Govt Rejects Federal Permanent Secretary Appointed by Tinubu

The Zamfara State Government has rejected the appointment of Maryam Ismaila as a permanent secretary by President Bola Tinubu, citing her lack of indigeneity to the state and unqualified status for the position.
In a letter to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Zamfara State Head of Service Ahmad Liman expressed concerns about Ismaila’s selection, suggesting it would continue the marginalization of Zamfara State in federal representation.
Despite these claims, investigations indicate that Ismaila is indeed from Tsafe Local Government Area in Zamfara State, with deep familial roots in the region.
