Zambufu Waterworks : Returns to site immediately, Commissioner tells Contractors 

The Commissioner gave these directives today when he paid in on-the-spot assessment visits to the project sites.

The Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon Usman Yunusa Lade, has asked the contractors handling the ongoing water rehabilitation of waterworks in Lafiagi and Zambufu to return to the site immediately to complete the ongoing project and also ensure quick service delivery.

The Commissioner gave these directives today when he paid in on-the-spot assessment visits to the project sites.

Hon Lade expressed his displeasure on the level of work being carried out in the two sites as not pleasing enough.

He counseled the contractors to pay much attention to the terms of the contract agreement and deliver good work for the government.

He reiterated the State Government’s commitment to providing the people of the state with potable water, adding that this informs the basis for the state government’s huge investment in water projects across the state.

Lade stressed that the State Government will not accept any shoddy job from any contractors, emphasizing that it is no business as usual.

The water works operator at Lafiagi  Usman Issah who took the commissioner around the facilities briefed him on the challenges facing the facility.

He appealed to the state government to help solve the challenges especially the incessant epileptic power outage in the area.

Earlier, the Commissioner and his team made a stop at the Emir Palace in Lafiagi to seek the Royal Blessing of the HRH, Alhaji Kudu Kawu before proceeding to the project sites.
