Yahaya Bello increases NYSC allowances in Kogi

Yahaya Bello, the Governor of Kogi State, has announced a significant 100% raise in the allowances provided to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Kogi State. This noteworthy announcement took place during the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 NYSC program at the Kabba Bunu Local Government Area’s State Orientation Camp.
Governor Bello’s generosity extends beyond just the increase in allowances; he has also committed to donating ₦37.7 million to provide logistical support for the smooth transition of these dedicated Youth Corps members to their respective primary assignment locations.
In his address to the gathering, Governor Bello called upon private sector employers to collaborate in prioritizing the well-being of NYSC members, recognizing their vital role in nation-building. He emphasized the values of diligence, hard work, commitment, and unity, highlighting their significance not only during the service years but also in preparing them for future challenges beyond their NYSC service.
Governor Bello also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Pastor Adebimpe Williams, the State Coordinator of the NYSC, in enhancing the camp’s infrastructure. He assured that other requests for development from the NYSC administration would receive the highest consideration.
This heartening development coincides with the deployment of 1,888 Corps members, consisting of 977 males and 911 females, to Kogi State as part of the latest batch of the NYSC program.
