In a brief statement to the press on Monday, his Personal Aide, Adeyeye Ajayi, confirmed that the former head of state is alive and in good health.
Ajayi stated, “I am still here and doing well. I am in no rush.”
The false news of Gowon’s passing had circulated on the internet on Monday.
