Wizkid’s Mother’s Funeral Set for October 13th

The funeral arrangements for Jane Dolapo Balogun, the late mother of Wizkid, have been announced by the Balogun family.

Jane, who passed away on August 18, will be laid to rest on October 13, although the cause of her demise remains undisclosed.

According to an e-flier shared on social media, a wake keep and tribute in Jane’s memory will be held on October 12, followed by the funeral service the next day.

The funeral service will take place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Born on July 14, 1957, Jane Balogun is survived by her husband, Muniru Olatunji Balogun, and four children: Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, and Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun.

Wizkid, who was born on July 16, 1990, in Surulere, grew up in a polygamous household with a Muslim father and a Christian mother.

He has been known to have a deep affection for his mother. In 2014, he released the song ‘Mummy Mi’ from his ‘Ayo’ album as a tribute to mothers worldwide, expressing his gratitude and promising to provide her with the finest things in life.”
