Daniel Bwala, previously a spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 presidential election, has mentioned that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will face expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when the appropriate time comes.

Bwala made these remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today show on Thursday night, following a challenge from Wike to the PDP leadership to either suspend or expel him from the party. Wike had expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was also serving in his cabinet.

Bwala noted, “We tend to not respond to Wike’s statements as he thrives on drama, which is widely recognized. The party’s silence isn’t a sign of weakness; there’s a strategy at play. In due course, Wike will not only face suspension but will also be expelled. You can be confident about that.”

The PDP figure acknowledged Wike’s capabilities in developing the FCT but referred to him as a “glorified commissioner” who shouldn’t assume the authority of a state governor.

Bwala also praised Wike as one of the most effective ministers among the President’s 45-member cabinet. Nevertheless, he cautioned the FCT minister against seeking revenge on his adversaries in the capital by issuing demolition threats against their structures.

Furthermore, Bwala argued that before making threats of demolition, Wike should address the absence of the Aso Rock and several military barracks in the original FCT Master Plan. He suggested that Wike prioritize demolishing those structures before considering action against other buildings beyond Abuja’s Master Plan.
