Wike Affirms Approval of N2 Billion Palliative for FCT
During a meeting with contractors in his office on Monday, following the inaugural Federal Executive Council (FEC) session of the current administration, Wike disclosed this information.
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has affirmed the approval of a 2-billion-naira palliative by President Bola Tinubu for the FCT.
During a meeting with contractors in his office on Monday, following the inaugural Federal Executive Council (FEC) session of the current administration, Wike disclosed this information.
The minister verified the allocation of the 2-billion-naira fund to provide relief to FCT residents, with a primary focus on addressing transportation challenges.
He emphasized that while the Federal Government is actively seeking to increase project funding, the FCT Administration will also prioritize its internally generated revenue.
Furthermore, he issued a strong warning to contractors, underscoring a zero-tolerance approach for any excuses.
In a prior move, the Federal Government had granted substantial sums of money to all 36 states in the federation, as well as the FCT, to help alleviate the impact of removing fuel subsidies on the general population.
