Why I’m aspiring for Kwara North Senatorial Seat – Dr. Mahmud reveals

Sodangi Patigi, Dr Mahmud Umar Muhammad who also doubles as the Director, Community and Rural Development N-HYPPADEC has revealed reasons why he is vying for Senatorial Position come 2027 for the Kwara North Senatorial District of Kwara State.

Dr Mahmud made the revelation on Tuesday, 1st April, 2025 at the Sallah get together and Special prayer organized by Dr. Mahmud Advocacy Group (MAG) at his residence, New Market Road Patigi, Kwara State.

In his welcome Address, Dr Mahmud lauded the contribution of Late Galadiman Patigi, Alhaji AHMAN PATEGI and Late Honorable  Aliyu Ahman of bless memory for their Socio-economic development strides in their time and later disclosed that now Patigi will be lacking behind if we failed to pick interest to sustain the good legacies of these icons.

In his Remark, Sodangi Patigi said “My sole aim of aspiring for the Senate Seat is to make my contribution to the development of our region and am convinced that if you are not part of any system, you will not be able to make any changes in that system,. So I want to contribute to the community growth and development so I have to join the system.”

The two Galadimas have actually done their best to the community and regional development in the past and we need to sustain their legacy hence reasons for my aspirations Dr Mahmud added.

Sodangi Patigi further appreciated the Stakeholders, Youths wing, Women Groups across the three district of Patigi LGA, Edu and other parts of Kwara North who graced the Sallah Get together for their unwavering support and finding him worthy.

The central aspect of the Meeting was the collective offering of Prayers for the Unity of Kwara North, Kwara State at large,discussion on key Developmental issues and Cultural Display.
