Joseph Aloba, the father of Mohbad, has clarified the swift burial of his 27-year-old son, who passed away on September 12.

Aloba explained that in Yoruba culture, it’s customary to avoid prolonging the preservation of a deceased person’s body if both parents are alive.

He mentioned that had Mohbad passed away at an older age, they might have considered using a mortuary.

Aloba also emphasized that the land where Mohbad was laid to rest belonged to him and was given to his son to build a church.

He stressed that keeping his son’s body for an extended period was not in line with Yoruba customs when both parents are alive.

Aloba previously disclosed that Mohbad had passed away after receiving an injection from an auxiliary nurse and urged the public not to blame Naira Marley, Mohbad’s former label boss, for his son’s death.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has involved the Department of State Services (DSS) in the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death, and there has been discussion of the possibility of exhuming Mohbad’s body by the police.
