What we’ve done to improve the system at Kwara Poly, Rector reveals

The kwara state polytechnic rector, Engr, Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed today has said that the Polytechnic under his watch has procure a numerous achievements.

Engr. Abdul made this revelation during a press conference organized to unveil the 27th combine convocation ceremony of the institution, held at the Prof Wright academic conference hall on Tuesday 16th of November, 2021.

Engr Abdul at the press conference highlighted his achievements within two years he was appointed as the rector revealing that his administration has enhance staff welfare, remodel polytechnic certificate, hostels renovation, acquisition of radio license, installation of solar powered light, free internet connectivity wifi, CBT exams, promote the institution security, among others.

Speaking on the challenges confronting his administration, The rector said ” Lack of funds has been a major problem of the institution, 70% of our expenditure goes for payment of salaries and wages despite grossly inadequate teaching staff” Adding that to maintain adequate security on campus, it cost the management a sum of five hundred thousand naira every two weeks.

“meeting the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) requirements for accreditation of programs are always a serious challenge to the institution. However, the management aside payment of more than thirty million naira to NBTE for the accreditation of more than 21 programs” Dr Abdul said.

Meanwhile, the rector generally disclosed the breakdown of student grade, revealing that the school recorded 83 distinction in 2019/20 academic session also 69 distinction in just concluded 2020/21 academic session.
