We’ll ensure LASU students benefit from students’ loan – Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has assured students at Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, that they will benefit from the Federal Government’s student loan scheme.
During the university’s 27th Convocation and 40th Anniversary in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu awarded the overall best student, Olaniyi Olawale, N10 million.
Sanwo-Olu said, “This is my fourth Convocation Ceremony as a University Visitor, and it’s always a pleasure to share in the joy of students on one of the most important days of their lives, looking forward to a future full of possibilities.
“My administration is committed to empowering students in our state-owned tertiary institutions to unlock their full potential. We aim to nurture innovative thinkers, problem-solvers, and leaders who will drive sustainable development in Lagos State and beyond.
“Sustaining a world-class university requires significant financial investment. We will fulfill our responsibilities, as envisioned by our founding fathers and our T.H.E.M.E.S Plus strategic governance agenda, which includes Education and Technology as core pillars.
“We will collaborate with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to ensure the new national student loan program is accessible to students in state-owned institutions in Nigeria, including LASU.
“We will ensure LASU students fully benefit from this policy and continue our efforts to support all members of the university community. When LASU thrives, the surrounding communities and residents benefit greatly as well.”
