We spend N1.3bn on electricity annually – UNILORIN VC
During a meeting with the Unilorin Students’ Union Executive Committee, he highlighted the monthly expenditure of N120m to N130m on electricity, contributing to an annual total of N1.2bn to N1.3bn.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, revealed that the university spends approximately N1.3bn annually on electricity despite facing financial challenges.
During a meeting with the Unilorin Students’ Union Executive Committee, he highlighted the monthly expenditure of N120m to N130m on electricity, contributing to an annual total of N1.2bn to N1.3bn.
Egbewole acknowledged the financial strain but emphasized the institution’s commitment to providing essential services such as water, internet, laboratory equipment, health facilities, and more.
The vice chancellor commended responsible student unionism and urged leaders to foster a robust network among peers for effective communication.
He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for student success and emphasized the importance of adhering to the academic calendar.
