We can fix Nigeria’s refineries in one year – Female engineers tell Tinubu

Female engineers are urging President Bola Tinubu to grant them the opportunity to rejuvenate Nigeria’s non-functional refineries.

The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) conveyed this request during their public lecture and annual general meeting in Lagos. Atinuke Owolabi, the APWEN chairperson, emphasized that within a year, female engineers could collaborate to restore the refineries to full functionality.

She encouraged the president to empower local engineers and lessen dependence on foreign expertise.

Chinedu Anyaso of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) also called on the government to consider rehabilitating the refineries to avoid excessive reliance on the new Dangote refinery.
