Tribunal Upholds Bala Mohammed’s Election Victory
The tribunal rejected the petition submitted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate, former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
In the March 18th governorship election in Bauchi State, the Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has confirmed the triumph of Governor Bala Mohammed, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The tribunal rejected the petition submitted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate, former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
It concluded that there were no compelling reasons to annul the election, as it was conducted in accordance with the law.
The verdict was issued by a three-member panel led by Justice P.T Kwahar.
In March, INEC announced that Mohammed secured 525,280 votes, surpassing his nearest competitor, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Air Marshal Abubakar, who garnered 432,272 votes.
