Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will commission several significant projects initiated by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq during her visit to Kwara State from January 28 to 30, 2025.

The projects to be inaugurated include the Unity Flyover, Gen. Tunde Idiagbon Flyover, an ultramodern Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an Executive Ward, and the groundbreaking of the Civil Service Clinic, which will be named in her honour.

In addition, Senator Tinubu will commission an ICT Centre at the Kwara State University of Education, built under her office’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

Governor AbdulRazaq has also approved the renaming of several state facilities in recognition of notable figures. The road leading to the flyover will now be called Tafawa Balewa Road, and the old state secretariat will be renamed Brigadier General David Bamigboye Secretariat. The new secretariat will be named after Rear Admiral Muhammed Alabi Lawal, while the Kwara State Stadium Complex will be renamed Major-General George Agbazika Innih Stadium Complex, with the main bowl dedicated to football legend Rashidi Yekini.

Other state sports facilities and hostels will also be renamed in honour of local heroes and pioneers, including Coach Bolakale Mogaji, Atanda Musa, and Salihu Ishola. These projects underscore the state’s commitment to celebrating its history and advancing development.
