Tinubu Understands Your Concerns, Wike Reassures Nigerians
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) conveyed this message during the commencement of road rehabilitation in the Garki area of Abuja on Monday.
Nyesom Wike has provided reassurance to Nigerians regarding President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to delivering on his campaign commitments, emphasizing that Tinubu empathizes with the people’s struggles.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) conveyed this message during the commencement of road rehabilitation in the Garki area of Abuja on Monday.
“The FCT minister of state and I are here to confirm that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda is not just talk, but action. We are here to show that the FCT is making progress. Mr. President’s agenda isn’t just about words; it’s about deeds. That’s why we’re launching several road projects in this area,” Wike informed the audience.
“This is just the initial phase. In the coming weeks, we will proceed to phase two. This primarily concerns infrastructure, which Mr. President has pledged to improve. We’re addressing these commitments one by one because I have made it clear that if something wouldn’t work, I wouldn’t support it. I serve in his cabinet because he genuinely cares about this country and its citizens; he understands their struggles,” the former Rivers State governor added.
Wike expressed his concern about the state of infrastructure in Nigeria’s capital city and affirmed his administration’s dedication to providing a better deal for Abuja residents.
“The FCT is undergoing a transformation compared to its previous state,” he stated. “We intend to make comprehensive improvements.”
However, he issued a stern warning to contractors handling these projects.
“We won’t entertain any cost variations; it’s unacceptable. A project initially priced at N1 cannot suddenly become N15 within a week. We won’t tolerate it,” he asserted. “There will be no alterations in this project. Contractors, please take note: attempting any changes won’t be successful.”
