Tinubu signs N28.7trn 2024 budget into law

President Bola Tinubu has officially approved the N28.7 trillion 2024 appropriation bill, signing it at the presidential villa in Abuja.
Stressing efficient implementation, he instructed Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to submit monthly Budget Performance Reports for accountability.
The budget priorities encompass defense, job creation, economic stability, investment climate improvement, human capital development, poverty reduction, and social security.
Tinubu highlighted a substantial increase in funding for the judiciary, raising the statutory transfer from 165 billion naira to 342 billion naira.
The budget, initially set at N27.5 trillion, was increased by N1.2 trillion and passed by both houses of the National Assembly.
Notable officials present included the Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning.
