Tinubu set to inaugurate minimum wage committee
The committee is set to convene in Abuja, representing a pivotal step towards realizing this commitment.

President Bola Tinubu has given the approval for the inauguration of a committee on the national minimum wage, reaffirming his dedication to ensuring a living wage for Nigerian workers.
The committee is set to convene in Abuja, representing a pivotal step towards realizing this commitment.
This decision comes on the heels of Former President Buhari’s endorsement of a N30,000 minimum wage for both federal and state workers in 2019.
In January 2023, the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission disclosed plans to initiate the process of reviewing the national minimum wage.
Notably, organized labor has been urging for an upward adjustment, particularly following Tinubu’s announcement of the removal of the petrol subsidy in his inauguration speech on May 29, 2023.
