Tinubu sacks aviation directors hours after CEOs’ removal
This decision was communicated in a statement by Odutayo Oluseyi, the spokesperson for the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in Abuja on Thursday.

Within 24 hours of ousting heads of aviation agencies, the Federal Government has terminated the appointments of all directors of Aviation.
This decision was communicated in a statement by Odutayo Oluseyi, the spokesperson for the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in Abuja on Thursday.
The government instructed the relieved directors to promptly hand over their responsibilities to the most senior officers in their respective directorates.
The move is attributed to a leadership change in the aviation sector aimed at enhancing safety and efficiency aligned with the Renewed Hope agenda.
The affected agencies, including the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Nigeria Meteorological Agency, Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, and Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau, have been directed to ensure a seamless transition to the new leadership.
The statement emphasized that the agencies’ board secretaries and legal advisers remain unaffected by this directive, and the dismissed directors are urged to strictly adhere to the provided instructions.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier replaced the heads of various aviation agencies, appointing acting and substantive heads while suspending the Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Musa Nuhu.
