Tinubu Returns To Nigeria, Signs Five MoUs With China

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following an official visit to China and a brief stay in the United Kingdom, as announced in a statement by his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu left Abuja on August 29th, commencing his official engagements in China on September 2nd. During his visit, he held bilateral meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, resulting in the signing of five memoranda of understanding between Nigeria and China.

Additionally, President Tinubu participated in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing. As the chairman of ECOWAS, he delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of multilateralism and cooperation for global peace.

He also met with representatives of the Nigerians in the Diaspora Organisation (China chapter), where he highlighted the significance of his government’s ongoing reforms aimed at improving infrastructure, such as roads, electricity, and education in Nigeria, similar to what is seen in China.

Following his stay in China, Tinubu traveled to London, where he met with King Charles III to discuss climate change and potential actions.
