Tinubu returns to Nigeria after two-week vacation in UK

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom. He arrived in Abuja, the nation’s capital, on Saturday evening.
The president’s arrival was announced by Olusegun Dada, his special assistant on social media, through a post on his X account, stating, “The eagle has landed. Welcome home Mr President.”
Tinubu had departed Abuja for the UK on October 2 for his vacation. Ten days into his trip, Kabir Masari, senior special assistant on political matters, revealed that the president had traveled from the UK to France.
Since assuming office in March 2023, Tinubu has made several trips to the UK and France. Meanwhile, Vice-President Kashim Shettima embarked on a two-day working visit to Sweden on Wednesday.
The absence of both the president and vice-president raised concerns among Nigerians about the country’s governance, with some questioning if anyone was in charge. However, the presidency clarified that their absence does not imply a leadership vacuum.
