President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerian workers that their worries will soon end as his administration works to improve their conditions.
Speaking at the 2024 May Day celebration in Abuja, he acknowledged their contributions to the economy and hinted at considering a “living wage” instead of a “minimum wage” if recommended by a committee set up to review workers’ compensation.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing the president, noted that the administration values workers’ support and commitment during policy changes.
Tinubu also addressed ongoing security challenges and reiterated his government’s commitment to achieving a just and equitable society through peace and unity.
Overall, the government plans to work closely with labor groups to ensure workers are treated with respect, job security, and inclusivity, emphasizing the importance of social dialogue in resolving disputes.
