Tinubu Plans to Reconvene FEC Meeting on Monday
Historically, FEC meetings have been a weekly tradition under previous administrations, including the most recent one led by Muhammadu Buhari.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to reconvene the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, October 16, after a 32-day hiatus since the inaugural cabinet session held on August 28, as reported by Thisday on Sunday.
Historically, FEC meetings have been a weekly tradition under previous administrations, including the most recent one led by Muhammadu Buhari.
The constitutional role of the FEC, which is chaired by the President, is to serve as an advisory body, as outlined in the Ministers’ Statutory Powers and Duties Act.
On August 21, President Tinubu inaugurated and swore in 45 ministers who attended the first cabinet meeting at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on August 28.
Additionally, three recently confirmed ministers – Balarabe Abbas Lawal (Kaduna), Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Kwara), and Ayodele Olawande (Ondo) – are expected to take their oath of office on Monday before the cabinet meeting.
