President Bola Tinubu has stated that the removal of petrol subsidies in Nigeria was necessary to prevent the nation from collapsing.
He acknowledged the hardships caused by this decision, which led to an increase in fuel prices and rising inflation.
During a meeting with a delegation of Muslim leaders from the southwest at the Aso Rock villa, President Tinubu emphasized that this move was taken to secure Nigeria’s future, even though it has resulted in difficulties for the people.
Tinubu recognized the importance of leaders making tough decisions for the right reasons, noting that avoiding subsidy removal for 40 years was no longer sustainable.
