Tinubu joins new microblogging platform, Threads
Threads is a text-based social media platform founded by Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, which also owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has joined Threads, the new microblogging platform.
Threads is a text-based social media platform founded by Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, which also owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
The app features have similar functions to Twitter; such as interaction, liking, reposting, and controlling thread replies.
It was launched on July 6. Since its unveiling, Threads has recorded over 10 million sign-ups.
Tinubu is the latest person to join the microblogging platform.
In his first post on Threads, the president shared a video from his inauguration which took place on May 29.
In an accompanying caption he wrote, “My fellow Tailors, Idan has landed.”
As of the time of this report, the president’s Threads account has garnered over 29,000 followers.
Tinubu is not the sole Nigerian public figure to join the platform since its launch.
Other notable individuals, including Osas Ighodaro, Mr. Macaroni, Kaffy, Woli Arole, and Linda Ikeji, have also joined.
Threads was launched to rival Elon Musk’s Twitter.
The app’s unveiling comes a few days after Musk announced that a temporary limit has been imposed on the number of posts users can read daily on Twitter.
He said verified users will have access to 6,000 posts daily, while unverified and new users will be allowed to read 600 and 300 posts, respectively.
