Tinubu isn’t a magician, fixing problems takes time – Interior Minister

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, stated that President Bola Tinubu did not present himself as a “magician” during his campaign for the presidency.
In an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Tunji-Ojo explained that the Tinubu administration cannot fix issues that have been developing for a century in just one year.
Tunji-Ojo noted that the federal government is performing well according to certain indicators and expressed confidence in the administration’s ability to address Nigeria’s challenges.
“When you judge the government based on its ability to solve a 100-year-old problem in one year, you might form such an opinion,” he said.
“To the best of my knowledge, Mr. President never campaigned as a magician. He campaigned as a statesman, promoting a message of renewed hope.
“Renewed hope means it had diminished. To restore hope that has significantly declined and to fix a failing system, time is needed. Are we on the right path within this timeframe? Yes.”
The minister blamed Nigeria’s problems on years of mismanagement, emphasizing that solutions require time.
