Tinubu calls for global tax system review
Tinubu, represented by Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, stressed the need to rectify the imbalance in international tax systems, especially in taxing digital economies that disproportionately affect developing countries.

President Bola Tinubu has called for a review of the global taxation system at the third south summit of the Group of 77 and China in Kampala, Uganda.
Tinubu, represented by Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, stressed the need to rectify the imbalance in international tax systems, especially in taxing digital economies that disproportionately affect developing countries.
Nigeria, along with other African Group member states, initiated a historic UN resolution for a framework convention on tax, a pivotal step towards a more equitable global tax system.
Tinubu expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing Nigeria’s commitment to South-South collaboration and multilateralism, envisioning a responsive G77 that meets the needs of member states.
