Tinubu Approves N683bn As 2024 Intervention Fund For Public Tertiary Schools

President Bola Tinubu has approved N683,429,268 billion as the 2024 intervention fund for public tertiary schools in Nigeria.
The Executive Secretary of TETFund, Sonny Echono, revealed that 90.75% is for direct disbursement, 8.94% for special projects, and 2.27% for emerging issues.
Universities will receive N1,906,944,930.00, polytechnics N1,165,355,235.00, and Colleges of Education N1,398,426,282.00.
This funding aims to address the persistent calls for improved funding, better pay, and upgraded facilities, often highlighted by strikes among lecturers in the country’s public schools.
