Tinubu Approves FCT’s N1.1trn 2024 Statutory Budget

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval to the Federal Capital Territory’s statutory budget for the 2024 fiscal year, totaling over N1.1 trillion.
The announcement was made by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, during a media chat in Abuja.
Wike expressed satisfaction with the president’s endorsement, highlighting the budget’s focus on infrastructure, healthcare, and school rehabilitation in the FCT.
The budget, which passed its second reading in the Senate last month, allocates N280 billion for overhead costs, N726 billion for capital projects, and N140 billion for personnel, making it a total of N1.147 trillion.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, the bill’s sponsor, emphasized that the appropriation bill aligns with the FCT administration’s revenue and expenditure forecasts, reflecting federal government fiscal and developmental policies.
