President Bola Tinubu has granted approval for a 50% reduction in interstate transport fares for Nigerian travelers during the upcoming yuletide season, spanning from December 21, 2023, to January 4, 2024.

The announcement was made by Mr. Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, who revealed the details at the Aso Rock Villa on Wednesday.
Alake emphasized that this special initiative aims to provide affordable travel options for the masses, excluding air travel from the program due to its luxury nature.
The Federal Government, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, will oversee the seamless implementation of this presidential intervention.
