Tinubu Appoints New Auditor-General Of The Federation

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President, has given his consent to the appointment of Mr. Shaakaa Chira as the Auditor-General of the Federation, as recommended by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

The appointment was made in accordance with the powers vested in the President by Section 86 of the 1999 Constitution (Amended).
Ngelale explained that Mr. Chira’s appointment was endorsed following a screening process conducted by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), during which he emerged as the most qualified candidate, securing the highest score in the examination among all eligible candidates for the position.
The statement further noted that President Bola Tinubu anticipates that the new Auditor-General will prove worthy of the trust placed in him and meet the high expectations of Nigerians with respect to the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
