Tinubu Appoints Jega as Adviser on Livestock Reforms

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former INEC chairman, Attahiru Jega, as adviser and coordinator of the presidential livestock reforms initiative.
Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga announced the appointment on Friday, highlighting it as a key step in addressing challenges in Nigeria’s livestock sector.
Jega previously served as co-chairman of the presidential livestock reforms implementation committee. Tinubu has emphasized the need to commercialize livestock farming, citing its long-term neglect.
In 2023, the president established a livestock committee to resolve herder-farmer conflicts and boost the sector’s growth.
