Tell president that there’s alarming hunger in the land – Kano emirs urges Remi Tinubu
Bayero expressed his concerns during a meeting with the first lady at his palace in Kano on Monday.

Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has urged Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady, to convey to President Bola Tinubu the severity of the country’s hardships.
Bayero expressed his concerns during a meeting with the first lady at his palace in Kano on Monday.
He emphasized the importance of her direct communication with the president regarding the pressing issues of hunger, insecurity, and other challenges faced by the people.
Bayero also highlighted the need for urgent action to address these issues, including the alarming levels of hunger and insecurity.
Additionally, he raised questions about the relocation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) offices to Lagos, stressing the importance of transparency and clarity from the government on this matter.
Bayero commended the first lady for her efforts in improving the welfare of children and encouraged her to continue supporting initiatives like the Renewed Hope Initiative pet programme.
Recent protests in Kano and Niger states on February 5 and 6 highlighted the public’s frustration with the rising cost of living and food inflation.
