The inaugural edition of the Kwara State University (KWASU) Tech Conference took place recently, marking a significant milestone in the pursuit of technological advancement and innovation. With over 400 attendees, including distinguished guests, industry experts, and tech enthusiasts.
The event proved to be a resounding success in fostering knowledge exchange, networking, and sparking conversations that will shape the future of technology.
In his remark, The organizer of the event, Jimoh Mohammed Bawa (MBO), a 400-level student of Chemistry who is also a technology advocate. Mohammed Bawa, known for his passion for driving technological innovation, recognized the need to bring together professionals, students, and enthusiasts in a collaborative environment to explore emerging trends and discuss the challenges and opportunities in the tech industry.
The conference was skillfully anchored by Tunmise Austin. He ensured the smooth flow of the event, engaging the audience and facilitating insightful discussions alongside Lawal Mariam Oluwatosin, Peace Ozioma Osigwe and Anifowose Abubakary Gbolahan.
The KWASU Tech Conference featured a diverse range of sessions covering various facets of technology, including artificial intelligence, tech YouTube content, freelancing, virtual reality and more.
Renowned experts from academia, industry, and research institutions delivered captivating keynote speeches, shedding light on latest developments in the tech world and sharing their invaluable insights.
Among the notable keynote speakers was Raheemat Atata, a leading expert in Product Design and Content Creation. Lawal Azeez Okikiola also captivated the audience with his talk on ‘Grit: A tool to Unlocking Potentials in Today’s Techies.’ His thought-provoking session sparked lively discussions.
Another highlight of the conference was a discussion on freelancing using Upwork and Fiver by Gideon Abowha. Other speakers were Awodi Abdulmujeeb Ayomide and Habeeb Abdulrauf.
The KWASU Tech Conference went beyond traditional presentations and lectures by offering interactive workshops and hands-on sessions. These workshops provided attendees with practical skills and knowledge in areas such as Freelancing, Web Design, Ui/UX, Artificial Intelligence, XR and YouTube Content Creation. He also gave out 2 copies of “Beyond Degree” a book written by Bayo Lawal, to some lucky winners.
