Suspected armed robbers burgle provisions store in Ilorin

Goods and Items worth over N500,000 were reportedly carted away by suspected armed robbers on July 9, 2023, from a provisions and food stuffs store in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.

Our correspondent gathered that the suspected hoodlums carted away huge amount of money worth N500,000 with several items like Packs of Malt drinks, Packs of Tin Titus fish, Tin Milks, Three gallons of Palm Oil and other valuable items, Gold necklace and ATM card that belongs to the shop owner were carted away from the store located beside Addua-u-Al-adabiyat kamaliya, Nur/ pry sch along Okesuna LGEA primary school in Okesuna area of Ilorin.

Lamenting the loss at the spot of the incident, the owner of the store, popularly addressed as Iya Habeeb, said that her store was burgled in the middle of the night.

She said, “Which of those guys that use to sit in front of my shop early morning do we see this morning, where are they. They burgled my shop and went away to have fun with my money.”

Meanwhile, Chairman of Okesuna community policing had visited the scene, and the store owner revealed that her husband had gone to report at the police headquarters in GRA, Ilorin.

As at the time of gathering this report, police had not visited the area of the incident or give any development on the matter.
